The hour of decision is the most crucial moment of any life on any day.

Surprisingly many people live day by day by taking chances, banking on Mother Luck, or just by being passive about most vital issues of life.

This is the major reason why most lives are just mere subsistence ordinary lives, so many people living barely on threadbare, without a purpose, without joy or happiness, and sadly without any sort of achievement or accomplishment from cradle to the grave.

In the golden words of Theodore Roosevelt, “In any moment of decision,

The best thing you can do is the right thing,

The next best thing is the wrong thing,

And the worst thing you can do is nothing.”

Most people usually choose to do nothing, and no wonder, they always get the worst outcome.

Your fate is sealed and your destiny is determined during those crucial and vital moments of decision-making. However, so many people are very complacent about what to do when vital decisions are to be made and crucial choices are to be taken.

All true success story has a struggle before the prize, decision-making comes before every purposeful action. Your decision today determines your destiny tomorrow.

Every one of us comes now and then to some crossroads in life. While many failures in life take difficulties, disappointments, and life challenges as hard blows and hindrances, successful people accept hindrances and life burdens as opportunities to make the most important decision they will ever make.

While failed people cry over their hindrances and burdens of life, successful men and women take moments of disaster and times of hardship and difficulties as their defining moments and the turning point for a decisive life change.

Making The Right Move is the common denominator separating those who live their dreams from those who live in regret.

Life’s greatest rewards are reserved for those who could show a never-ending commitment to make bold decisions, and could act and harp on their resolutions until they meet their life dreams.

This level of resolve can move mountains, but it must be constant and consistent.

Because these traits are not necessarily inborn, anyone with resolute determination can work on acquiring them.

People, who can, always can! This is the main theme of this little treatise.

It is a brand new year, a great new dawn!

The beginning of a new walk, a brighter journey,

The resumption of a pilgrimage in faith with Christ,

With His Light to daily shine and brighten my pathways

His Spirit to guide my thoughts in serene prayers with God,

His Word, a lamp to my feet; road-map leading me to The Lamb!

What a new dawn, what a new year,

A time not to be heard, seen, praised, but Christ!

What a new me, what a transformed self,

A time to live anew with Christ from day-to-day!

What a wonderful time, full of expectations great,

That I, by grace and not by works, will be fit for His Throng

When He comes to call up His saints in Rapture!

O God “teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” (Psalm 90: 2).

Another Year Is Dawning

Another year is dawning, dear Father, let it be

In working or in waiting, another year with Thee.

Another year of progress, another year of praise,

Another year of proving Thy presence all the days.

Another year of mercies, of faithfulness and grace,

Another year of gladness in the shining of Thy face;

Another year of leaning upon Thy loving breast;

Another year of trusting, of quiet, happy rest.

Another year of service, of witness for Thy love,

Another year of training for holier work above.

Another year is dawning, dear Father, let it be

On earth, or else in Heaven, another year for Thee. (Frances R. Havergal).

Traditionally, a new year is often attached to new beginnings, new orientation and new resolutions. Time has become a constant issue in the affairs of man.

Like money in the bank, time is a vast resource available for your judicious use as we wade through the New Year. However, many of us failed to use our time wisely just as we most often fail to handle wisely financial and other resources put into our care.

As time is difficult to manage and elusive to control, the best is to manage one-self and develop habits that keep you in checks and balances through time and space.

God exist changeless from everlasting to everlasting. GOD IS THE SAME YESTERDAY, TODAY and FOREVER.

GOD has a Grand Plan for all His created beings, especially you and I, the crowning glory of His works.

Because death is certain, not many people live above a hundred years anymore, you must live well before you die.

Because judgment is sure, after death comes judgment, you must choose to live right to be judged right and not condemned.

Because proper understanding of God, time and eternity reveals that there is a Plan of Redemption for man after his fall into sinfulness, and that embracing this Plan, man could live in glory eternally after death, I seek Redemption to make Heaven.

Steps to A Fruitful New Year

Wisdom is knowledge guided by understanding, but clever men and women rule the world.

“The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity. Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law; That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.” (Psa 94:11-13).

Generally, people who could reason well, who could think well, and who could speak convincingly are regarded as clever. Man’s cleverness is always apt to promote self, display pride and arrogance while seeking selfish gains and personal aggrandizement.

The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.” (Pro 14:8).

Wisdom is the personal character which enables one to apply his knowledge skillfully, with perfection and finesse, behaving with dignity and consideration, to solve seemingly insoluble problems with objective logic, and for the interest of all concerned.

They do great feats without much ado, they find a knotty issue and quickly discover the best way out of the logjam, and they go all out to seek the best but simple way while maintaining their coolness and restraint.

Wisdom of God is the principal thing in Christianity.

Wise men still seek Jesus!

When Christ was born in Bethlehem of Judea, wise men from the east were given the divine assignment to seek out “where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.” (Mat 2:2).

The Great Commission

After His resurrection from death, and shortly before His ascension into Heaven, Jesus Christ committed The Great Commission into the hands of His disciples – genuine followers of Jesus Christ. “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.” (Mar 16:15,16).

Today, wise men still seek Jesus,

  • To know Him,
  • To worship Him,
  • To serve Him,
  • To walk in His steps,
  • To preach the gospel to all mankind, and
  • To win lost souls into the Kingdom of God.

Holiness – Beauty of the Redeemed

The Magi and genuine disciples, redeemed souls, are wise men. “And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:” (Isa 35:8,9).

Encounter with Jesus

Three Magi, gentiles who were far away from Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, saw in the east “a Star will come out of Jacob; a scepter will rise out of Israel” (Nu. 24:17), as a revelation of the Savior of all nations.

The Magi sought Jesus as best they knew how. They followed after the star tenaciously from their home base till “the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was”. (Mat 2:9).

  • Have you come to meet Jesus Christ right where He stands calling you – O sinners come home?
  • Do you celebrate the birth of the Savior of humanity in sinfulness and out of iniquities?

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.” (Rev 3:20,21).

What sort of Christmas

Life of sinfulness and disobedience to God is always a long dark night of bondage under the captivity of the devil.

What a happy day it always is when Jesus Christ washes your sins away.

The wise Magi felt great joy and heartfelt satisfaction when they sighted the Star of Jesus again. “When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.” (Mat 2:10).

  • Do you celebrate Christmas as a child of God, or as a sinful man or woman reveling in worldliness and unsure of where you’ll spend eternity?

“And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him:”

“Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.” (1Ch 16:29).

Christmas has become commercialized and worldly because:

  • some want the crown but they won’t bear the cross,
  • some others want Heaven’s bright mansions but they won’t pay the price,
  • a very large throng are called Christians while they live daily in sinfulness and worldliness,
  • But it takes your hands, your head, your heart, your all and your everything to serve the Lord.

The wise men came to worship the lord bearing costly gifts of gold, myrrh, and frankincense. They brought all they had – themselves, their talents, their treasures, and their time to worship the King of Kings.

Wise men today are still seeking for Jesus, but not in the reveling and satanic orgies of Christmas festivities without Christ, but through all of Christ Himself, His Word, His Spirit, and the teachings of His saints.

Wise men still seek Jesus, but not in the cheating, looting, and deceptions of the world and its system, but in Truth and in Spirit.

Wise men seeking Jesus realize how much they need Him, and follow Him through the waters, through the garden, through the judgment, through dark Calvary, and just all the way.

Because they go wherever He leads them, Christ goes with the wise men all the way, and He gives them grace and glory which worldly pleasures and Christmas without Christ could not give.

“And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.” (Dan 12:3)

This Christmas, if you are already a Christian, you must continue in the Lord’s service.

Serve the Lord thy God!

Serve Him with all your might, with all your heart, with all your soul, with your entire mind, and with all your strength. That will be wisdom indeed!

This Christmas, if you are not yet one of God’s dear children, repent, and enter His fold, for – “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” (Joh 6:37).

Christmas celebration must be nothing short of:

  • the birth of Jesus Christ, the Savior of all men,
  •  salvation of man from his sins, and
  •  restoration of man unto a perfect relationship with God.

All genuine followers of Jesus Christ have taken the personal decision to:

  • follow Jesus Christ,
  • walk with Jesus Christ,
  • work for Jesus Christ, and
  • stay with Jesus Christ Him unto death.

Making the birth of Christ meaningful and real unto you, commit yourself and your way unto God today!

  1. ACCEPT that you are a sinner, and turn to God with a repentant heart.
  2. BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Savior.
  3. CONFESS your sins to God with a contrite heart and genuine remorse.
  4. REPENT from those sins with the desire and determination not to go back into them again.
  5. FORSAKE sin in all forms and ramifications, shades, colors and types.

You can seek God now, following those five steps, and pray the prayer of faith unto God, and become a brand new person in Christ.

It is not by trying to do it; it is TRUSTING IN GOD to do it here and now!

Truly, wise men, like you, are still seeking Jesus!

Better be wise!

At in-gathering offerings and celebrations, we give thanks to God for bountiful harvests and joyfully celebrate as a family and congregation the successful completion of another season.

Though their first winter in the New World was hard, tough and difficult, the Pilgrims and many early settlers took the spring to learn from Native American Indians how to cultivate their new lands and adapt to their new home.

The peace pact between the settlers and the natives gave a peaceful atmosphere that colored their first in-gathering celebrations in the fall of 1621, and thus the first American Thanksgiving.

Today I give thanks to God for a good life, a happy family, a kind, understanding, and loving wife and godly children.

It’s been a wonderful experience in life to be transformed from a gentile into partakers of the blessings and covenants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. It is great to understand that God loves me so dearly and gives me the wonderful gift of Jesus Christ.

Life has given me caring tutors, wonderful schools and colleges, and a very rich education to touch and gladden other lives and people. This is not just a coincidence but the wonderful benevolence of God to His undeserving children. God I thank you. Jesus I praise you.

Life has taught me many things, one of which is the fact that God cares, and performs His wonders in mysterious ways.

Heikki Koivu was once the MD of Perusythyma, the Finnish Civil Engineering Construction Company, where I started my working career.

Armed Robbers attacked one of the project sites of the organization where I was the Accounting Officer. The Police arrested me and locked me up as their prime suspect. Heikki Koivu trusted me, flew down to site, and went through a rough ride with the police to get me released. Though the police vehemently refused but Mr. Koivu spoke glowingly of me and stuck out his neck to sign all necessary papers which led to my release from detention.

Three months afterwards the robbers were caught and tried as they attempted to cash expatriate staff’s traveler’s checks stolen during the robbery. Heikki Koivu was proved right and I was vindicated. Had Mr. Koivu not taken the risk my life would have gone in a different direction, probably pitched with gangsters and criminals. Have a great thanksgiving day, Heikki!

Thanksgiving is a golden opportunity to remember that life has been so good, that some people such as Heikki Koivu had been so nice and supportive, and that God has been so caring despite daunting challenges, difficult moments, and unpalatable circumstances.

You may not be rich or wealthy, but if Jesus makes a great difference in your life then you must be living a rich, peaceful, virtuous and abundant life. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

You must remember on this day of Thanksgiving that God’s only Son came to change your gloom to brightness. He has come on wounded feet to roll out your ailment and smooth your scattered sick-bed.

Christ enters your life with spike-pierced hands to soothe your pain with His balm and His precious blood that was shed on Calvary.

Jesus Christ washes away your grief and discomfort with His undefiled living waters.

Whatever need or challenge you may have in life, you only need to “taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”

Oh give thanks to The Lord; Call upon His name;
Make known His deeds among the people!
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;
For His steadfast love endures forever!
(1 Chr 16:8,34).

Jesus is knocking the door of your heart to come inside. He wants to breathe His words of faith into your gentle ears and your soul because “fear and anxiety, grief and gloom could not live where He is.” He cares for you, even while you were running from Him.

Does Jesus care when my way is dark
with a nameless dread and fear?
As the daylight fades into deep night shades,
Does He care enough to be near?

O yes, He cares, I know He cares!

His heart is touched with my grief;
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary,
I know my Saviour Cares.

As men, we are often inclined to ascribe personally unto self credits for all of our achievements. It is human to glory in our successes, and blame God or fate for our woes, calamities and life failures. Nevertheless, human beings are created to glorify God and praise Him for giving us the opportunities, the ability, and the possibility to excel.

Apple Computer’s History began out of friendship. Friendly relations between Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak during their teens blossomed into cooperation, partnership, and the formation  of  Apple Computers .

Though born out of wedlock to two intellectuals, Steve Jobs was adopted at birth and brought up by a much less literate couple. Nevertheless, his unusual life story of a misfit and inadequate early life did not prevent him from turning out as a wizard whose creativity and acumen continue to impact on very many lives, institutions and businesses across the world.

GOD moves in a mysterious way, His wonders to perform!

The Apple I was actually hand-built by Steve Wozniak, a friend and partner of Jobs, and first shown to the public in attestation of Wozniak’s creativity and technological acumen. But it was Steve Jobs that prevailed on his friend to publicize the breakthrough and market the acumen, leading to the founding of Apple Computers, the fore-runner corporate body of Apple Inc.

Judge not the Lord by feeble sense, but trust Him for His grace!

Steve Jobs

It wasn’t a secret that Steve Jobs in his younger days dabbled in recreational drugs, LSD, and the use of marijuana and hashish. Steve boasted unrepentantly that such mind-altering substances gave him a ‘life-changing’ effect, and were “one of the two or three most important things I have done in my life.”

Steve Jobs“think different” trait and approach eventually took over Apple’s corporate style and was often credited for placing Apple’s designs and products way ahead most of her competitors and contemporaries.

Think twice when God is absent in your success story.

It appeared Apple and her co-founder had overridden the Dilemma of Determinism – the need to reconcile freedom of will with a deterministic universe.

The world is bemused with the moral responsibility of a role model and his pace-setting organization as they both thrive and flourish with his queer lifestyle and approval of wildly dangerous hallucinogens and intoxicating substances.

Rather than glorify God for His benevolences, Steve thinks LSD may have contributed to the “think different” approach that still puts Apple’s designs a head above the competition.

Though raised a Christian, Steve Jobs traded off the love of Jesus Christ for Zen Buddhism. He traveled to India for enlightenment, to meditate and learn about a simpler way of life.

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (Joh 14:6).

Steve Jobsbiggest mistake was most probably not about Apple Inc. but rather about himself. He was so engrossed withgate gate paragate parasangate bodhi svahdl” – “going, going, going on beyond, always going on beyond, always becoming Buddhato the point he was thinking his cancer away for about nine months! Too late and so bad he could not survive the infectious onslaught. Steve had tremendous success despite his doubts on Christ!

“But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.

They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.

And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High? (Psalms 73).

It is forever golden to abide and wait upon God for enduring breakthrough. The righteous are guided and led by the Word of God which puts divine good thoughts on their mind and fortify them against Satan’s temptations and deceptions.

It pays always to serve Jesus because faith and grace will always prevail. The righteous man’s afflictions end in peace, therefore he is happy; the wicked man’s enjoyments end in destruction, therefore he is miserable.

Tim Cook

Recently, current Apple CEO Tim Cook wrote about his sexuality, saying: “I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me”. Does God condemn homosexuality and give men “the greatest gifts” of gays at the same time?

Though recognized in some quarters as the most powerful gay person simply because he sits atop the executive branch of the most valuable company in the world, Tim Cook cannot be as powerful as the least saint in the Kingdom of God.“Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.” (Mat 11:11).

Tim Cook’s thought that so if hearing that the CEO of Apple is gay can help someone struggling to come to terms with who he or she is, or bring comfort to anyone who feels alone, or inspire people to insist on their equality, then it’s worth the trade-off with my own privacy“, are Tom Cook’s.

Decision determines destiny. The most powerful CEO might just be trading off his eternal life for the fame and glamour of a fast spreading lifestyle.

Homosexuality has gained prominence today. Lesbians and gays are coming out of the closet in larger numbers to flaunt their pride in a lifestyle which is disdain to culture and condemned by God.

Man has always been disobedient to God, offensive to His way, and has learnt to distrust Him right from the early days of creation. The thieves and the robbers, the adulterer and the prostitute, blood-thirsty rulers as well as the very corrupt men and women in public service and private enterprises have always existed in the history.

Though illegal and criminal in about eighty nations across the world, homosexuality is fast gaining ground in many Western nations and cities. Gay marriage is now legal in the federal District of Columbia and 32 out of the 50 states of USA. More and more gays and lesbians are boldly coming out to declare their sexual orientation to the public while living their normal lives, with much more people expressing understanding and acceptance than in the past.

The United States National Football League – the NFL, drafted its first openly gay player recently. The New York Magazine recently displayed on her front cover the picture and story of a transgender woman who is the highest-paid female executive in the United States, and probably in the world.

People’s attitudes in the West are changing at a fast rate in favor of acceptance for ‎LGBT community and lifestyle. The number of Americans living in states and counties where gay marriages are legal will soon reach 60%, while more and more high profile people are testifying to their LGBT culture.

Pope Francis on gay rights affirms that gay people should not be marginalized but integrated into the society. He stressed that the position of the mother church was that homosexual acts were sinful, but homosexual orientation was not.

When tennis legend, Martina Navratilova propose to longtime partner, Julia Lemigova, and the event was beamed across the world on the giant screen during a 2014 US Open semi-final duel, we know that gay life acceptance was really gaining ground. Despite the hype, the big screen and the glamour of it all, a simple marriage between two truly loving opposite sexes brings plentiful joy in heaven because God is in it.

Country Where No One Is Gay

God is not ashamed as the God of all truly repenting sinners, who willingly arise and return to his Father, believing in the atoning blood of Jesus Christ at Calvary, to cleanse from all sins and iniquities.

There is a great joy in Heaven

  • because of your decision to have Jesus Christ in your life,
  • because you crossed from death into life,
  • because you crossed from the path of iniquity unto the way of life, and
  • because your name is now written in Heaven’s Book of Life.

To such ones who would come out of homosexuality, lesbianism, and all sorts of immorality and queer lifestyle, believing in faith, desiring a heavenly inheritance, God is not ashamed to receive unto Himself in the same way He took back and honor the prodigal son.

God Himself will be their father, and they will become His people, living with Him throughout eternity, in joy and happiness, in a Country-Where-No-One-is-Gay

“Be not deceived, God is not mocked; for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.” (Gal. 6:7,8).

The marriage institution is God’s ordained ordinance and plan for humanity, and should not be perverted in contrast to His declaration in the Bible.

Life itself is a risk and every man must live as a pilgrim on earth, wading through the hazards and uncertainties of every single day, toiling on from day to day, with a firm focus on Heaven.

It is those who master to hear the inner voice, the Divine Spirit within, and not the devilish urge from the crowded world, that gains true success and enduring achievements in life.

You must live through risks, trials and temptations to gain eternal life.

To determine what amounts to your holy grail, and decide how to pursue and prosecute its achievement rests upon you and the urge of the Divine Spirit within. It is those who master the ways of The Spirit and understand the urges of the Divine that would eat the fruits of the good land. The large majority which follows the crowd and the dictates of Satan and the world would end up in utter dejection.

“Clear conscience is the greatest armor” says a Chinese proverb. Your disposition in life is good and true when you keep up a clear conscience toward God and man.

To paraphrase Plato, If what each man believes to be true through sensation is true for him, then each man would hold his own opinions for himself alone and there would be no standard with which to measure man, whether heterosexual or homosexual, saint or sinner.

But the Creator has taken care of such anomaly. A man’s natural inclination is not just dictated by the sheer wisdom of this world but rather through his conscience, his God-given inclination and message, which speaks in his blood and reason out of his mind that this is the way to go to reveal the power of God in his life.

If a man therefore overrules his conscience to contravene accepted standards of morality and conduct, and chose to walk contrary to the dictates of the way of God, he would have to bear the resultant social disgrace or inner censure as well as the attendant mental trauma of his immorality.

Though she was a national heroine in her own right, well-known, and a highly respected public figure, the first American woman in space, Ms Sally Ride kept it a well guided secret until her obituary that she was gay. It must have been a lifetime torment in her conscience.

Who do you think you are, Mr. Cook?

No One Can Legislate Morality

In his reply to a letter protesting sexual permissiveness, President Ronald Reagan wrote: I don’t believe the answer rests with the government. No one can legislate morality. What we need is a spiritual awakening and return to the morals of a Christian society.

“And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying,

This is the way, walk ye in it,” (Isa 30: 21a)

Who Do You Think You Are?

As strangers and pilgrims on earth, we are living and dwelling temporarily amongst many worldly sinners, yet unaffected by their sinful ways through our faith and the grace of our savior Jesus Christ. Whatever practice in life, career, home and play that fails to give glory to God must be avoided by heavenly minded Christians.

“Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul” (1 Pet 2:11).

Jesus Christ will come at the rapture to take home all genuine Christians who are faithfully waiting for Him.

“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.” (1Co 15:51-53)

“Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” (1Th 4:17 ).

Heavenly minded Christians could only partake in issues and affairs or programs that edify the saints of God, fellow Christians and believers, and not to try and please self, family or colleagues to sin against God.

Does your life style and character edify the body of Christ and promote the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit of God in you?

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Rom 12:1,2).

Who do you think you are?

“Do you know where you are going, and do you carefully consider your end?

Do you keep watch, looking ahead for the shore?

What shore are you expecting to see?

For what purpose are you living?

What is the end and drift of your daily action?”

But, remember there’s a Country-Where-No-One-is-Gay!

The subject of success and personal achievement has gained much popularity and desire in the affairs of men from time immemorial. Success, personal achievement, wealth, and prosperity have become cultural idols with which men, communities, nations and continents are defined.

The ideas of the rich against the poor, the successful and the unsuccessful, the prosperous against the needy, the developed nations against the developing or poor nations, the industrialized against the under-developed, the superpowers against the less powerful group, has been in the categorizations of men and communities from time to time.

This kind of orientation is usually classified in line with the so-called American Dream phenomenon – “You can get it if you really want to get it, just try, try, and try, and you will succeed at last” or “If you work hard enough, you can be anything you want to be.”

Success in anything at all is to have a peace of mind and self-satisfaction in your achievements.

This state of inner calmness and tranquility together with a sense of freedom, when thoughts and worries cease, and stress, strain or fear disappear can only come from God when you do His will.

“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Php 4:7).

The biblical ‘Parable of the Talents’ offers profound insight into the true meaning of success and the real purpose of work and human labor. Three servants were given different amounts of money, denominated by talents, each according to his ability. A servant was given five talents, another was given two talents, and the third servant was given one talent.

The first and second servants doubled their investments and received the master’s praise. The third servant, who was given one talent, safeguarded the money but did nothing to increase it. The third servant was condemned by the master for his inactivity.

Lessons of life have taught us that we cannot travel the journey of life all alone. You need The Lamb’s guide and lead at every twist and turn. God gives the in-born talents and gifts plus the tools with which to achieve success. Your faithfulness in trading rightly and correctly for good profitability is all that God require from you.

You get into the trenches, roll up your sleeves and get reconciled with God to become a partaker of the kingdom of God, and then go out to fulfill the Great Commission, making disciples of men and women. “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Into what have you cultivated and invested your God-given talents – is it unto your selfish ego and personal aggrandizements or unto furthering the kingdom of God. It takes faith to plough our God-given talents into doing the will of God and in furtherance of His kingdom, whether you have been given one, two, or five talents.

This is a higher kind of stewardship, and the one that could only fetch you enduring happiness and eternal reward. It is the only stewardship from which you will receive the commendation: “Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”

It is your love of the Master that drives and inspires your work. And since the end always justify the means, you will never lack bread and butter on your table, children in your house, and peace of God in your family and life.

I am not unmindful of the popular pattern and formulas for success by imitating the life-styles and methods of renowned rich men, industry leaders, and economic gurus. The Bible does not teach us how to become the next Henry Ford, Andrew Carnegie, Mark Zuckerberg or King Solomon.

There are so much trainings in visualization, meditation, hypnosis, brainwave entrainment, visualization, NLP – neuro-linguistic program processes, subliminal messaging, mindfulness, Emotional Freedom Techniques – EFT, Law of Attraction, Tapping, and so many other techniques and programs.

The simple message of the scriptures is to guide every willing heart how to receive the Master’s well done – the praise of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:

So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.” Pro 3: 5 – 10).

Bible reading is a great way to start to understand the way of God and His pattern for your life. The Bible is not arranged in the same way as your regular books. Rather, the Bible is its own interpreter and best teacher of the scriptures.

Life is full of friendly foes and unrelenting enemies, yet God cares.

Whether you are wrapped all over and all around with snares, miseries, calamities, plagues, and death, God always have a great plan for you.

God walks with the simple and reveal Himself to the humble.

He gives wisdom and great understanding to all who are teachable like babes.

To those who are pure in mind God opens the ken of knowledge and good sense. But His grace, very clear and glaring in man and nature, is hidden from the proud and the arrogant.

God moves in mysterious ways to perform His wonders in the lives of men.

Those who strive to live unto God, who trusts in Him, are never ignorant of the divine sweetness and support promised for the persevering and unwavering believer.

While many people mistake Christianity for religion, the blessing of walking with Christ goes beyond the provision of bread and butter for the hungry, shelter for the homeless, and sound health and care for the sick and needy, a better life is assured all who walk in faith with the Savior, not only in this life, but in His coming Kingdom.

Walk on, through the wind
Walk on, through the storm,
And don’t be afraid of the dark
He’ll appear and take your feeble hands,
You’ll never walk alone!

You truly come alive when you finally discover your real self.

It is when you seriously discover who you are that your life really comes into any significance.

You become free when you actually do what you ought to do, and when you are doing what you really want to do.

It is when you know your real worth that you can better understand where to ply your trade or best apply your talent.

Failure to attain self-actualization is the root-cause of most failed lives, and failures abound here and there.

Though gifted and talented, most men and women are wholly engaged in a lifetime of servitude to other people just because of the shrouded “security” that goes with paid-labor, and the challenges to attain self-actualization in one’s own term and pace.

Many masters are servants today because of the rigors and challenges of self-development and personal empowerment.

Be slave to no man! Rather be a self-made man.

Drain yourself and rein in all your natural tendencies and in-built abilities to gain freedom and not perpetually depend on others. Strive for successful achievement in life of life dream and be free from the oppression and repression of another man.

Turn and twist your mindset to gain fulfillment and optimal creativity in life.

It matters little where I was born,

   Or if my parents were rich or poor;

Whether they shrank at the cold world’s scorn

Or walked in the pride of wealth secure:

But whether I live an honest man,

And hold my integrity firm in my clutch,

I tell you, my brother, plain as I can, it matters much:

You need Personal Development to transform from little beginnings into a man of worth. Free yourself from the undeserved support of others and become a creative man of credible means.

Self development will guide you to win any conceivable hindrance in life, to run and triumph in your lifetime race, to defeat the foe and be agile despite the odds, to swim and sail through whatever depth or width of water, to fly and glide like the eagle till you get to your port of peace and abode of treasure.

Personal growth and self-development guides and train man, any man for that matter, to sing beautiful tunes despite the sorrow and sadness of a long night, till the good morning of joy and happiness blossoms.

Studies in Personal Development and self-improvement approaches are life lessons and self-help methods scientifically prepared to help you realize your purpose in life.

A dangerous feature among most of us was to feel contented once there is a place to lay the head, a bread and butter on the table, and some sorts of job, or any type of job at all, to lace the wallets and trudge along. Human beings, created in the image of God, deserves much more that these.

“Self-actualization is the intrinsic growth of what is already in the organism, or more accurately, of what the organism is.” (Abraham Maslow). A man without self-esteem is devoid of self-confidence and has no clear purpose in life.

No matter your level of academic knowledge and career attainment, failure to pursue life with focused aspiration, and inability to meet deep-rooted desires and intrinsic aspirations will always leave a deep void in your heart. Such dissatisfaction cuts like a knife and the sorrow may go on for a life time.

You need to come out of all inhibitions into realistic tendencies, seeking growth and development to achieve your heart-felt goals in life. You need to get out of all limitations and hindrances for peak performances.

“A man’s true greatness lies in the consciousness of an honest purpose in life, founded on a just estimate of himself and everything else, on frequent self-examinations, and a steady obedience to the rule which he knows to be right, without troubling himself about what others may think or say, or whether they do or do not that which he thinks and says and does.” (Marcus Aurelius)

Man’s Inhumanity to Other Men – Those who Keep Slaves

The heart of man is desperately wicked beyond reason when not touched by godliness. The mind of human beings could be very deceitful when he is ruled by the flesh and selfishness. The big man oppresses the small man. The great man represses the small guy. Poor folks become slaves and servants of the rich and mighty. Some ethnic groups became preferred and should receive all benefits, while other ethnic groups are “untouchable” and should die for the rich to thrive!

One of the greatest sorrows of man is man’s inhumanity toward his fellow man. One typical heinous sin and crime of humanity is his cruelty towards fellow human beings. This art of sinfulness and criminality could only come from a heart that is devoid of the cardinal virtues of wisdom, justice, courage and temperance.

The grace of God led Purist Christians out of the oppressions and tyranny of King James I of England into a new lease of life in the New World. As the Pilgrims or Founding Fathers found peace and freedom in America, they forgot about the grace of God for all of God’s children. They inflicted savagery, slavery and every form of oppression and repression on Africans, Indians and all non-white people in the Americas.

To set the captives free, and deliver the oppressed, God created the year of Jubilee. Every 50th year of the Jewish calendar is the Jubilee, the year of restoring liberty to the enslaved, title to the rightful owner, remittance of old debts, and allowing the land to replenish its nutrients.

Though freedom was a cardinal feature of the foundation of the United States of America, African Americans, colored people and people of color remained enslaved by blue blood white folks for more than 400 years. The Pilgrims or white Founding Fathers of the United States closed their eyes to the very harsh and inhuman treatment of enslaved Africans on white man’s cotton plantations and gins, in their homes as well as in their industries.

“This is the most tragic picture of man’s inhumanity to man. I’ve been to Mississippi and Alabama and I can tell you that the hatred and hostility in Chicago are really deeper than in Alabama and Mississippi.” (Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., 1966)

“For most of this country’s history, we in the African-American community have been at the receiving end of man’s inhumanity to man. And all of us understand intimately the insidious role that race still sometimes plays – on the job, in the schools, in our health care system, and in our criminal justice system.” (Barack Obama, 2008).

The dream to be willing to be judged not by the color of one’s skin or by the caste his tribe, but rather by the content of his character, is the epitome of great enlightenment. It is this serious awakening that shot the African American from the slave house into the White House. Black or white, all men understand that we must overcome our inhibitions to gain freedom. We all need to attain lofty goals and aspirations in life rather than be slaves to other men.

Man’s inhumanity to himself

“Man’s inhumanity to man is equaled only by man’s inhumanity to himself.” (Edmund Bergler).

“The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves, that we are underlings”. Each human is endowed with natural abilities and mental capabilities to fight the battle of life and win, to attain, to accomplish, and gain, as he wade purposefully through every step and stages of his existence.

“Everyone has a talent.

What is rare is the courage to nurture it.” (Erica Jong).

When, how, and which way he applies his talents are the million dollar questions!

Though we all understand that that all men are created equal, sadly a very large proportion of men also hold the opinion that some men are more equal, more fortunate, better opportune, and better endowed than themselves. People who reason this way are still slaves to themselves and unto other men.

Freedom is the inalienable right of every human being according to the power and abilities given us him by God. However, we must strive to claim it, to cultivate it, to develop it, and strain ourselves to prove it. This paradox keeps many men as slaves to other men and unto themselves because they wouldn’t try.

It is a man’s strong sense of his freedom that makes him believe in his free will to choose and to act in faith, despite any obstruction or hindrances on his path of progress.

“What a man can be, he must be. This need we may call self-actualization…It refers to the desire for self-fulfillment, namely, to the tendency for him to become actualized in what he is potentially. This tendency might be phrased as the desire to become more and more what one is, to become everything that one is capable of becoming.”

Get into the trenches!

Worry and anxiety does not answer any need of man. You must rise above the weather to work and surmount the tough challenges of life. You must work hard to gain freedom from oppression and all forms of slavish tendencies.“He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.” (Ecc 11:4).

Success is something that you will need to define for yourself if you are ever to achieve it. Once you know what success means – for you, personally – then you have a good start to move ahead in earnest.

“The intellect has little to do on the road to discovery. There comes a leap in consciousness, call it intuition or what you will, and the solution comes to you, and you know not how or why. All great discoveries are made in this way.” (Albert Einstein).

“A wise man makes his own decisions; an ignorant man follows the public opinion.” (Chinese proverb)
